Virtual World Direct Closed Down

I can't believe that VWD has ceased trading. I've been with them for 6 years and won lots of prizes in that time from e-lottery. It looks like the UK Government closed them down for allegedly making misleading statements. The company denies this and claims that the legal costs would be too high to defend against the action.

Message to the Tea Party and Republicans-What took you so long to get angry?

Message to the Tea Party - What took you so long to get angry?

You didn't get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.

You didn't get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate Energy policy and push us to invade Iraq.

You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed.

You didn't get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.

You didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.

You didn't get mad when we spent over 800 billion (and counting) on said illegal war.

You didn't get mad when Bush borrowed more money from foreign sources than the previous 42 Presidents combined.

You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars in cash just disappeared in Iraq .

You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people.

You didn't get mad when Bush embraced trade and outsourcing policies that shipped 6 million American jobs out of the country.

You didn't get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.

You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden.

You didn't get mad when Bush rang up 10 trillion dollars in combined budget and current account deficits.

You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.

You didn't get mad when we let a major US city, New Orleans, drown.

You didn't get mad when we gave people who had more money than they could spend, the filthy rich, over a trillion dollars in tax breaks.

You didn't get mad with the worst eight years of job creation in several decades.

You didn't get mad when Federal regulations looked the other way while banks and Wall Street reaped billions writing faulty mortgages, short-sold the debt and even wagered that the debts would fail.

You didn't get mad when over 200,000 US Citizens lost their lives because they had no health insurance.

You didn't get mad when lack of oversight and regulations from the Bush Administration caused US Citizens to lose 12 trillion dollars in investments, retirement, and home values.

No.....You finally got mad when a black man was elected President and decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick!

Australian Labor News - Let's move Australia forward

Treasurer’s Economic Note.  Australia’s economy continues to thrive while half the population voted for Tony Abbott who opposes all the measures that are keeping the economy strong.  There is no underestimating the power of corrupt media to manipulate the views of the lumpen masses.

Very nice… and seemingly cheap.  I’d imagine this car is at an age where the price should start to go back up a bit if it’s well looked after.

From Business Spectator. See the table showing how much better off many mining preojects would be under the RSPT. The spin and fear campaign by the Liberal Party and the big miners is disingenuous and full of blatant lies.

NEWSPOLL 52-48: RUDD VINDICATED | The Daily Bludge – Independent News

A good poll result for the government.  News Corp and The Australian, in particular should be very embarrassed by their failing campaign against Labor.  Also, the ABC is becoming more and more tabloid, picking up on the more sensationalist angle of Abbott “closing the gap” on Rudd as preferred Prime Minister.  It’s the 2PP result that is the more important and worthy of highlighting.

V8 Supercar driver Mark Skaife calls for speed limit on Victorian freeways to be lifted to 140km/h | Courier Mail

Good call.  The ridiculous obsession with an artificially low 100km/h speed limit on a good road like Eastlink or the M1 is more dangerous than a more sensible 130 – 140km/h limit.

Big tick for the Labor Government’s Building the Education Revolution programme.  It’s a shame the opposition won’t let the facts get in the way of a good beat up.

Anti-Tony Abbott Facebook Groups

The Tony Abbott Will Never Be Prime Minister Facebook group is a welcome sign after seeing all the anti-Labor feeling in cyber-space. It's a good source of information and feels nice to reinforce one's own opinion...

It's also good to see that this sanitary napkin has more friends than Tony Abbott.

Then there's the Friends don't let friends vote for Tony Abbott angle.

Tony Abbott is a F***wit seems like an obivious statement, so there's a group for that too.

Simply put, Tony Abbott is Evil is good too.

Everytime you vote for Tony Abbott god kills a kitten sounds cute.

Yet another one, this time highlighting his controlling attitude towards women, get your rosaries off my ovaries.

Another smaller one, Tony Abbott is a F*^KHEAD!!! is there too.

Most annoying ad on TV

That ad on Southern Cross 10 for dealbusters.com.au has to be the most annoying ad on TV at the moment. That stupid FM radio echo effect on the annoying voiceover is the worst part, but the useless offers they promote are almost as bad. Who tf wants 10% off wig hire when hiring a whole costume from some costume hire joint in Traralgon? What a score!!
